Department of Transportation Vehicles
DOT vehicle guide for ER:LC: cone trucks, tow rigs, maintenance pickups, yard spawns, rank unlocks, and highway work zone operations.
DOT Fleet Purpose
Department of Transportation (DOT) vehicles support traffic control—not law enforcement—in Emergency Response: Liberty County (ER:LC). Cone trucks, arrow boards, maintenance pickups, and heavy tow rigs spawn from the DOT yard for work zones on River City arterials, Springfield suburbs, and Liberty County highways.
DOT players earn rank through cone deployment, towing abandoned pursuit wrecks, and Quick Radio coordination with RCPD, LCSO, and RCFD. Heavy trucks accelerate slowly—master P parking brake on yard slopes before entering highway merges.
DOT rigs use the same control layer as other ER:LC vehicles: W/S drive, G hazards when stationary, L for warning light stages where supported, Y for lane status radio calls.
- Cone trucks — lane closures and work zone staging
- Tow rigs — clear pursuit wrecks from bridge and highway lanes
- Maintenance pickups — quick response to minor debris scenes
- Heavy support units — higher rank unlocks for large tow operations
Spawning at the DOT Yard
Join DOT from the team menu, travel to the yard marked on Key Locations map, and select eligible vehicles by rank. Lower ranks access pickups and light cone trailers; senior ranks unlock heavy tow trucks suited for disabled interceptors and fire apparatus.
Despawn before grabbing alternate units—blocking yard exit lanes traps other DOT players during busy post-pursuit cleanup scenes.
Inventory holds cones and signs—deploy upstream before crashes stack on blind corners near River City roundabout exits.
Work Zone Operations
Standard loop: respond to wreck pings or pre-stage cones during scheduled roleplay. Angle cones toward shoulders, announce closures on Quick Radio, and reopen lanes when RCPD clears pursuits.
Tow abandoned vehicles to shoulder lots—never leave empty interceptors in lane three on bridge approaches. Tow XP stacks after major bank or jewelry responses when multiple wrecks litter the map.
Coordinate spike strip deployments with LCSO—DOT closures and police pursuits overlap on county merges during felony stops.
Rank Progression and Roleplay Tips
DOT ranks steadily on low-conflict servers—ideal for beginners learning map geography while helping departments. Pair with how-to-play-dot guide for department etiquette.
Do not impersonate DOT on civilian trucks—team tag and rank visible roleplay matters on public servers.
