Full keyboard and mouse bindings for Emergency Response: Liberty County — movement, vehicles, inventory, and emergency keys.
On-Foot Movement and Camera
When you spawn into Emergency Response: Liberty County, you control your character with the standard Roblox keyboard layout. W, A, S, and D move forward, left, backward, and right relative to the camera. The mouse adjusts your view; many players lower mouse sensitivity in Roblox settings for smoother aim when interacting with menus or civilian jobs that require precision.
Left Shift makes your character sprint. Sprinting is the fastest way to reach a vehicle spawn pad, hospital entrance, or robbery cooldown zone across River City, Springfield, or Liberty County countryside. Space jumps over curbs and low barriers around storefronts. C toggles crouch where supported, useful when taking cover during shootouts or hiding during house robberies—though server rules and moderation still apply to criminal roleplay.
Camera control is essential when exiting tight parking lots at the RCPD station or backing a fire engine out of RCFR bays in Springfield. Practice walking the perimeter of key locations—bank, jewelry store, hospital—so you know pedestrian paths when your car is disabled during a pursuit.
Interaction, Inventory, and UI
F is the universal interact key in ER:LC. Press F near a vehicle door to enter as driver or passenger depending on the seat you face. F also opens shop menus, ATM interfaces, job boards, and robbery tools when you stand at the correct prompt. If nothing happens, rotate slightly; Roblox interaction rays are picky on crowded sidewalks outside Springfield gas stations.
Number keys 1 through 9 select hotbar items when your inventory is open. Police officers bind handcuffs, spike strips, and firearms; firefighters equip hoses and medical bags; criminals swap lockpicks and bags. Tab or the inventory button configured in Roblox opens your full loadout. Drag items to arrange quick access before going on duty—rebinding mid-firefight is awkward.
Esc opens the Roblox menu; the in-game settings gear handles graphics and promo codes. T opens text chat; remember chat focus disables driving inputs. Many departments prefer Quick Radio (Y) over typing ten-codes manually because it keeps channels clear and reduces fail roleplay during traffic stops on Liberty County highways.
Driving with Keyboard
Once seated, W accelerates and S brakes or reverses. A and D steer the front wheels. ER:LC uses a semi-realistic weight model: police interceptors handle differently than DOT snow plows or civilian box trucks. Feather the throttle when exiting the bank parking lot with a stolen cash bag—spinouts attract LCSO units patrolling countryside roads.
Emergency vehicle keys layer on top of driving. P toggles parking brake; use it on hills near Springfield suburbs or when conducting a traffic stop on River City bridge approaches. Q and E activate turn signals so other players predict your lane changes. G enables hazard flashers when you block a lane after an accident. L cycles headlights, taillights, and emergency light bars; tap rhythmically to find siren stages without blaring unnecessarily in the station lot.
H honks the horn—short taps for civilian courtesy, longer for emergency warning when clearing intersections. Y opens Quick Radio for coded status updates. Combine these keys with map knowledge from our Map section: knowing which Springfield streets are one-way saves you from wrong-way pursuits that end in reports.

Tips for New Keyboard Players
Bind muscle memory in this order: drive cleanly, then lights, then radio. New RCPD recruits who spam L before mastering steering often crash at the River City roundabout. Spend ten minutes in an empty private server practicing P on inclines and Y-menu selections without moving.
If you play both ER:LC and other Roblox driving games, note that PRC uses fixed keys—you cannot remap Y or L inside the experience. Keep Roblox movement keys default to avoid conflicts.
